The "U R MR GAY" legend is an urban legend revolving around the 2007 3-D platforming game Super Mario Galaxy.
Description
Soon after the game's release, a common joke started spreading around, primarily on the NeoGAF forums, that singling out every letter in the game's logo with a small bright star twinkle on it reveals the secret message "U R MR GAY" (You are Mr. Gay). Some began to speculate whether or not the message was an intentional joke on the part of a marketing employee at Nintendo, but most consider it a coincidence.
In 2010, when the game's sequel Super Mario Galaxy 2 was released, the sparkles were instead featured on the letters "U R M I A Y". When reversed, the message "YA I M R U" (Yeah I am, are you?) can be found, seemingly answering the question posed by the first game's title. Like the first game's "secret message", this is generally considered a coincidence.
