The "Scripulous Fingore" legend is an urban legend revolving around the 2006 platforming game New Super Mario Bros. and other games of this franchise.
Description
On April 23, 2021, the parody Twitter account known as CutVideoGame posted a Tweet about this character. They went on to describe that they were a "cut ghost enemy referred to as "Scripulous_Fingore". He added that when developer Miyamoto disregarded questions about this character and seemed upset. This tweet gained much traction in the Mario Bros. community, having many fans create fan art for him.
Because of this character's popularity, many fans were led to believe that this character was real. To add onto this hoax, Twitter users such as AKoolKoopa created this character's sprite in Super Mario 64, claiming that he was cut from the game and giving him the phrase "You cannot ignore me forever, Mario." Despite these many claims, the character was intended to be a joke from the beginning. He was never found in any game assets, and he has never existed in the Mario franchise.
