Hi, guys. I wanted to share a horrifying experience I had in 2016 If you're thinking about downloading pirated games to avoid ads, think twice. Let me tell you what happened to me.
It was a rainy and boring night, so I decided to look for a version of Sonic 1 without ads on Happymod. After some searching, I found an APK called "sonic.hedhog.مانرای.apk". The strange name and description in an unknown language didn't discourage me, so I downloaded the file, ignoring all the security warnings my antivirus kept giving me.
Everything seemed normal when I started playing. The classic Sonic 1 music was playing, and Green Hill Zone looked just like it should. I was relieved not to see any ads interrupting my gameplay. However, when I got to the third level, I noticed something strange: the game had five Green Hill Zone levels, which doesn't exist in the original version.
The first four levels were challenging but familiar. However, when I reached the fifth level, everything changed. The scenery turned dark, with a red sky and withered plants, creating a heavy and oppressive atmosphere. The Sonic I was controlling looked different, with black skin and glowing red eyes that seemed to stare right through me.
As I progressed through the fifth level, the enemies became more grotesque, with distorted sounds and erratic movements. The ground seemed to move strangely, as if it were alive, and the music was replaced by a low, continuous noise, like a distant wail. Suddenly, a message appeared on the screen: "Oh no! Your phone has been hacked. You better format it, friend." My heart raced. Before I could react, the screen flashed and a bizarre black Sonic appeared, letting out a terrifying scream that made me jump in fear, dropping the phone on the floor.
My phone completely froze, the screen stuck on the distorted face of the black Sonic. I tried restarting the device, but each time it powered on, I was greeted with disturbing images and threatening messages. "You shouldn't have done this," one of the messages said. "Now, you will pay the price." To make matters worse, the wallpaper changed to a disturbing image of a distorted and frighteningly colored Sonic.
As if that wasn't enough, the phone started sending constant notifications with gore images, horrible and explicit scenes that made me feel sick. I was utterly terrified and started having panic attacks. The messages wouldn't stop, each one more disturbing than the last.
Desperate, I ran to my parents and explained what had happened. They tried to stay calm, but the seriousness of the situation made them act quickly. We formatted the phone, removing any trace of the malicious game. However, even after the reset, I couldn't forget the red eyes of Sonic and the terrifying scream that echoed in my mind.
That night, I had nightmares. I dreamed of Green Hill Zone turned into a dark hell, with the black Sonic relentlessly chasing me. I woke up sweaty and breathless, with a feeling that something was wrong. I looked at the phone on the bedside table, now empty and reset, but the feeling of fear lingered.
In the following days, I became more cautious about what I download from the internet. I started researching online security and decided never to download apps from unreliable sources again. The experience marked me deeply, and I'm sharing this to warn you all about the dangers of downloading pirated software.
Curiosity almost cost me dearly, but I'm safe now. The memory of that black Sonic and the terror I felt served as an eternal warning about the dangers of downloading things from the internet without precautions. So, folks, be smart and don't make the same mistake I did.
I recently discovered that the APK was deleted from Happymod, but I will never forget what I went through. This happened when I was 8 years old and was playing on my old, humble Pocket phone.
If anyone has gone through something similar, share it in the comments. Stay safe!
